Steve Olsen
Steven H. Olsen is the Director of the Dearborn Community Chorus.

As a voice Music Education major at Houghton College (New York), he sang leading roles in opera and oratorio as well as singing four years in the touring College Choir and Chamber Singers, completing his degree in 1978.

After teaching high school and singing professionally, he attended Georgia State University as the choral graduate assistant and completed his Master of Music in Choral Conducting/Performance in 1987. Steve spent 30+ years teaching K-12 Choral Public School, and in part- and full-time church ministry.

Since retiring from teaching, he has been involved in several adult community choirs, played roles in community theater, and spent 11 years as president of Shotime Productions LLC which caters to travel for students and members of the local community at large.

Steve is also music director at Allegria Village a local senior living community in Dearborn, Michigan.

Steve's wife is a High School Choral Director in Livonia Public Schools, and both of their adult children are musicians as well.

Steve is a member of ACDA (American Choral Directors Association) and has been a member of MSVMA (Michigan School Vocal Music Association).
